Q: How often should I have my rings checked/cleaned? Jeff says: The general rule is twice a year, and at Karrow's we suggest bringing your rings in 3-4 times a year - we will inspect the prongs for stress fractures, wear/tear, loose/cracked stones, cracked shanks, etc. If work needs to be done at our shop, we will provide an estimate before any work is done. If everything is OK, we will buff and ultrasonic your rings - which will give them that "out of the box" brand new look. Lotions, oils, perspiration and hairspray are very common to leave a "film" or buildup on the pavilion of your stones. after checking and cleaning, your stones will shimmer once again. Please stop in and give us 15-30 minutes to take care of your rings. Send your questions to: The Jeweler's Bench c/o Karrow Jewelers 628 Broadway, P.O.
